We adopted Maggie on Thanksgiving weekend. It was so appropriate because our family is very thankful to have her in our lives. She is an absolute pleasure and has brought so much joy and love to our home. We found her on Petfinder.com and followed her journey from North Carolina to the Tri-Boro Animal Welfare (TBAW) shelter. Her description sounded so great that I thought for sure another family would adopt her before we had a chance to meet her.
I emailed the shelter and followed up with a phone message. When they called us back to tell us she was still available, we immediately dropped everything and ran over to meet her at the foster's house. It was love at first sight! We knew from the moment we laid eyes on her that Maggie was the dog for us. It just clicked!
She is calm, gentle, and loving when indoors. Yet when she is outdoors, she is full of energy and loves to play fetch and run around with my eight year old twins. She has settled quite nicely into our home and has even bonded with the extended family. She has already had a sleepover with the kids at grandma and grandpa's house. The grandparents say she is so easy going she is welcomed whenever the kids sleepover. Working with Mrs. Panico from TBAW has a been a pleasure. Mrs. Panico truly cares about the well being of the animals. She periodically calls and texts for updates. She even stopped by the house with a Christmas gift for Maggie! It was the sweetest thing We adopted a pet and gained a friend in the process. I would truly recommend Tri-Boro Animal Welfare shelter to anyone looking to adopt a rescue. - The Ferrera Family
